How I grew my passion for scribble art
Share
Hi and welcome to the world of Art where I navigate my journey with you all! The ways that I create my artwork can be very different to many, which is exactly what makes it unique and wonderful to explore! I’m here to tell you all about why my art is so profound and interesting!
I have always loved Arts and Crafts since being a little girl, I would sit for hours with paints, pens, stickers, glitter glues and felts all over the dining table, creating scribbles on drawings that no one would understand but myself! I always had my head down focused on drawing and painting but never found my true passionate style…the style that makes everything flow easily.
Art was my favourite subject throughout school life! Although it wasn’t my strongest subject, it was the one that inspired me and helped me to relax.
I looked at many different styles of artwork ranging from realism, to abstraction, to expressionism, to pop art, to post- Impressionism, to photo realism, the lot! I also looked at many different techniques and ways of using resources including acrylics with palette knifes, oil paintings, watercolour with fine line, marker pens with bold textural prints, graffiti with spray cans, sewing and knitting, plastering and lino printing and so many more!
Exploring so many avenues for over 8 years helped me to come across scribble art, (also known as scumbling) which is where I found my huge passion and commitment. Being a huge self critic and being an artist, can sometimes be a struggling combination because something is never quite right. However, when I discovered my style and my passion for scribble art; making scribbles to create artwork meant that nothing could possibly be a mistake! Making mistakes within art, can flower into even greater beauty and from then on I believed that that is what makes my artwork so unique and special!
